Exploratory Visual Studies

Sunken House, by Adjaye Associates was a point of study for my experimentations in visual representation. Renders have the ability to impart emotions on the clients they are produced for. I was interested by the fact that the majority of interior renders represent a state of perfection and positive emotions, and decided to create an image which conveys negatively affiliated emotions. Since the spaces we as designers create are meant to be lived in and interacted with, it is natural that they will be used during all emotional and seasonal states, and should be represented as such. Methods of diagrammatic representation are also explored, testing the ways in which a project can be explained and interpreted. By incorporating both a plan and section into the same image, the project can be understood in multiple dimensions at once.
